Description:
Brown Sicklebill has one of the most impressive voices of the Papuan mountain forests. On most of the days, the males call several times in the early morning, often from emergent trees in their territory. They produce a very loud, machine gun like 'TAT-AT-AT-AT, TAT-AT-AT-AT-AT-AT' sound. The Brown Sicklebill is one of the biggest birds of paradise, the males measure - inclduing their large tail - up to 1 meter! They use their strange curved bill to forage on the mossy limbs, in search for insects, frogs or skinks.
