Description:
The Polder of Uitkerke has been for dennia a regular wintering place of Short-eared Owls. However they very seldom breed in the area, the Owls often start already very early in februari with a kind of a flight display. The spectacular display flights and aerial fights can be observed in years when lots of birds are present. In 2008 about 15 to 20 birds were present in the area.
