Flock of Greater White-fronted Geese -
Kolganzengroep
-
Anser albifrons

Image ID:
4693
Date:
28/12/2014
Location:
Zeeland,
The Netherlands
Description:

The image shows a panicking group of Geese, which just flew up because of a Peregrine Falcon passing by. Typical is the 'dosorderly flight structure', with several small groups flying in different directions and a 'very compact structure of the group in flight'. When flying more relaxed, one can often notice flights with a V-shape and a more 'ordered' structure of the flight, which is from an energetic point of view more interesting for the birds.
