King Bird of Paradise -
Koningsparadijsvogel
-
Cicinnurus regius

Image ID:
1242
Date:
31/05/2011
Location:
Salawati,
Rajah Ampat,
West Papua,
Indonesia
Description:

Adult male King Bird of Paradise.
The King Bird of Paradise displays in thick tangle of vines at a level of about 15 to 20 meters high, often in vines covering big old forest trees, but somtimes also in vines covering smaller trees.
In spite of it's flashy colors and the fact that it is a noisy bird, espaially when displaying, this tiny bird of paradise is not so easy to observe.
