Description: 

Morinus funereus is one of the bigger and more impressive European Longhorn Beetle species. It's larvae live in dead wood and the adults are found in mixed and broadleaved forests, as well as in old fruityards and gardens with big trees. It is classified on the IUCN Red List as vulnerable and it is a European habitat directive species.

The individual on the image is a female (slightly bigger and bulkier body and shorter antennae).
