This picture was made a few hundred metres below Pondok Tiga, at an altitude of about 3300 metres above sea-level. The forest interior in this area is one of the most enchanting habitats I've ever seen: the gnarled trees are covered with mosses and all kinds of epiphytes, such as orchids and ferns, and the vegegation is extremely lush. The forest floor is also often boggy and covered with huge mosses, selaginellas, lycopodias and ferns.
