Description:
This tiger beetle individual is sitting at the entrance of his burrow, where he was digging to enlarge the entrance. Tiger beetles often hide in holes or burrows when the weather is not favourable for chasing their preys. Their preys often consist of other smaller insects, such as flies, ants, little spiders, grasshoppers, of which the majority is mainly active when temperature is high enough. At night or during cold and rainy days they remain in their burrows.
