This is a portait of Martinus. Martinus' family was the owner of large parts of the Swamp forest. Every time I went to the Swamp forest, Martinus joined me for the birding and photography. He was a very friendly guide and knew the forest very well. With Martinus along my side I was also always sure of not getting any trouble with the landownership rules. As landownership is very important thing in Papua, it's absolutely advisable to have always the permission to walk on someone's propriety. Who doesn't ask the permission and gets caught, might find himself into serious trouble. Many of the conflicts between the local people, started by a way of infringing these rules.
