Small pratincoles were an omnipresent sight along the Jhia-Borelli River. They were often foraging in small flocks above the rapids, hunting for insects. When we landed with our boat on a sandy island with a lot of gravel and pebbles, there seemed to be a small colony of pratincoles on the island. Although we didn't see any nests yet, some of the birds showed distraction behaviour. We didn't stay too long on the islet, too avoid disturbing the birds and too be sure not too trample any eggs by accident.
